Historic Specials Burford Display Day 2014
1962 Ashley GT with square-tubed space frame chassis
has a
3.5litre Rover V8 - 240bhp (dyno sheet to prove)
with 4-barrel Holley carb
Up-rated cam, reworked heads, etc.
Smiths gauges
K&N air filter,
5 speed manual gearbox
4.11 English axle with LSD.
Adjustable GAZ shocks all round with Eibach springs
Roll cage, fibreglass bucket seats and 4-point Willans harnesses
Side-exit exhausts with oval silencers fitted discreetly inside each sill
Full aluminium panelling throughout with braided fuel and brake lines
14in steel wheels with Disk brakes front and rear
Excellent paint bodywork.
The original 1962 Ford 10 based Ashley 1172 had the
Body removed and re-fitted with a new full steel space frame, independent suspension and a 3.5litre Rover V8 engine
