This Ashley 1172 was on an old Ashley car Registration list
that I had been given many years ago and it was indicated as being
Ford based, with presumably the running gear, engine, gearbox and other parts being used.

​Checking with the DVLA and it appears not to have been transferred
​onto their electronic Database back
in the late 1970's.

However the motor vehicle registration indicates that it was issued
in January 1960 by the
County Council of Devon, Devonshire.

The entry on the list gives no indication as to the Body Colour
but it does refer to the Ashley being located in 1961 at the
Vauxhall Garage in Exmouth, Devon,
was it for sale or repair, I guess we will never know.

Another note indicates that in 1963 a Mr. T. Wiltshire of Dagenham was the owner at that time.
