This Ashley 1172 is displayed on the
oldclassiccars
website and was owned by Richard Jones back in
2001 through to 2003 when he sold it and packed it off to it's new home in Germany.

That was 10 years ago now, is it still running on the roads of Germany I wonder.

This is a DVLA age-related Registration No. issued in March 1998 by Bute County Council.

Various other websites have carried these other photo's of the car but it looks like they all came from the Richard at home or on events he has attended.

The original registration of this car made in 1961 is not know to me, but someone out there in the internet world of ours may have knowledge of other owners between 1961 to 2001, or where it rested for those 40 lost years, if it's you please email me and let us all know.

Well it's now  October 2020,  the year of the Covid-19 virus and & 7 years since I last edited this page.

I have just seen on the Ashley Laminates Facebook page
a post with these photo's below,
they have been posted by the owner
​HP. Schneider, in Southern Germany
and taken in the Allgäu Alps.

I commented on the post to see if my assumption was correct
and that it was indeed the same Ashley 1172
sold to someone in Germany in 2003 and HP confirmed that it was,

Yes Ivor, the GSJ 386 is approved by me in southern Germany at Lake Constance. A great vehicle without roof in summer, but also good to drive with a roof.
He has a 1172 Ford engine with about 38 hp
I'll send you pictures and data,

December 2020

they have also been posted by the owner
