This Ashley 1172 was on an old Ashley car Registration list
that I had been given many years ago and it was indicated as being
Ford E93A based, with presumably the running gear, engine, gearbox and other parts being used.

​A check with the DVLA and it appears not to have been transferred
​onto their electronic Database back
in the late 1970's.

However the motor vehicle registration indicates that it was issued
in between January and October 1948 by the
County Borough Council of Swansea, Wales.

The entry on the list gives no indication as to the Body Colour
but it does indicate that in 1994 a Mr. Ogle of Stoke on Trent
 owned the car, but he notes the car had a
Registration No. FCY 253 allocated to it

and that it was originally 1151 ME
so maybe it had been of the road for some years and lost the old registration !!!

This led to a another search for Ashley 1172 - 1151 ME.
